BioRAFT Simplifying Research Compliance

The Equipment Module tracks and organizes the critical information about research equipment.

The Equipment Module properly organizes research equipment by tracking:

• Standard equipment information is tracked (serial number, manufacturer, model, asset tag)
• Equipment specific information (type/class, device extensions, etc)
• Location (building, room)
  
• Owner and users 
• Certifications and renewal dates
• Many attributes including maintenance records, manuals, notes, files

Standard Reports enables easy oversight and management:

• View reports by equipment type, certification dates, and laboratory
• Laboratories can view a report of the equipment they own and use

A number of equipment types are currently tracked including Biosafety Cabinets, Hoods (Fume hoods, dumping stations, etc), Centrifuges, Freezers, Refrigerators, Autoclaves, Geiger Counters can currently be tracked.  Other equipment types can be easily added.

Automated Reminders

Automated reminders can be setup to notify individuals of approaching events, such as equipment certification expirations and maintenance needs.  This can be used to either enable EHS to manage certain equipment and certification needs or to remind laboratories to manage this on their own. 

Equipment Certification Companies

Companies that conduct certifications can be given specific access to only the equipment module to enter new  certifications for an institution.  This greatly reduces the management of ensuring that all equipment is properly certified.  

Future Enhancements
